The title, Sawfish: mining the forgotten forests of the sea is a bit misleading. It’s about a company that uses robots to harvest timber, long under water, in places where man made bodies of water flooded large forests. I don’t consider that a sea – but more of a lake or reservoir. Anyway – the article is still really cool and pretty interesting. I was just reading the latest issue of National Geographic last night, which has an article on Red Woods that deals a lot with logging and so this caught my eye. It seems to me to be a cool alternative to cutting more old growth trees.
A couple friends that track the site via the RSS feed informed me that there was a problem. I finally took the time to track it down and correct it last night- so things should be good now.
